The ticketing platform where IPL 2024 tickets will be available to buy suffered a crash as tickets for the opening fixture between CSK and RCB went online for sale today (March 18).

Tickets for the opening game of IPL 2024 between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore went live today (March 18) at 9:30 am IST.

However, soon after, the platform on which the tickets are being sold – Paytm Insider – crashed, leaving fans looking to book a seat the MA Chidambaram Stadium in a state of confusion.

Paytm Insider eventually had to issue a statement, admitting the crash and apologising for it.

“Unfortunately, an unforeseen technical issue that arose unexpectedly would have caused an inconvenience to you,” the statement read. “We would like to sincerely apologise for this experience. Our top priority is to provide a reliable and seamless experience and we are committed to ensuring the same. We will be up and running soon. Stay tuned for further updates.”

Paytm Insider recovered some time after the crash and posted an update around half an hour later that the tickets were live once again.

There have been previous issues with fans being unable to buy IPL tickets for the MA Chidambaram Stadium, with the venue now gathering a reputation for issues with its ticket sales.

CSK v RCB: Are physical copies of the tickets required?

Physical copies of tickets won’t be a necessity for entry to the Chepauk Stadium. The confirmation message received upon successful ticket-booking will serve as the E-ticket.

Tickets for the opening fixture of IPL 2024 between CSK and RCB can be bought here on Paytm Insider.

The minimum ticket price is 1,700 INR, while the maximum price is 7,500 INR.

Tickets for CSK’s second home game of the season, against Gujarat Titans on March 26, are not live yet.
