DC vs MI & LSG vs RR: IPL 2024 team news

A win against Gujarat Titans catapulted Delhi Capitals into the top seven. Today, DC will be without David Warner and Ishant Sharma, both of whom are injured, but they can use the newly acquired Gulbadin Naib as Impact Player to fill in as either batter or bowler or both.

After being outplayed by Rajasthan Royals in their last game, Mumbai Indians are now ninth in the points table. MI have the reputation for being slow starters, but if they do not start winning now, they may be leaving too much for too late.

The win over Chennai Super Kings – in Chepauk, too! – helped Lucknow Super Giants nose ahead of their rivals for a playoffs spot. There is more good news, of Mayank Yadav returning to the nets after a hiatus, though LSG have a very good bowling attack even without him. They have backed Devdutt Padikkal through his ordinary run, but time may be running out for him.

Rajasthan Royals are at least four points clear of the other sides, and will want to seal a qualification berth as soon as possible. After his five-wicket haul, Sandeep Sharma will retain his place, but R Ashwin’s form remains a matter of concern. Unfortunately, RR cannot use Keshav Maharaj, for they will have to keep the Impact Player option open for Jos Buttler.
