Shikhar Dhawan will continue leading Punjab. Harshal Patel’s addition to an underrated pace line-up comprising Arshdeep Singh, Kagiso Rabada and Nathan Ellis will add value. They will depend heavily on their marquee English contingent of Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livingstone and Sam Curran.

For Delhi Capitals, the return of their skipper, Rishabh Pant, after a harrowing car accident last year has given them a massive boost. However, Harry Brook pulling out and the unavailability of Lungi Ngidi due to an injury are some of the setbacks they faced ahead of their season opener. Rookie Australia youngster Jake Fraser-McGurk’s inclusion is a valuable addition to their line-up.

For KKR, captain Shreyas will make a comeback after missing last season due to an injury. The addition of Mitchell Starc, who fetched a record INR 24.75 crore in the auction, also bolsters their pace arsenal. Phil Salt came in as a replacement for Jason Roy, who pulled out ahead of the tournament. Gus Atkinson also withdrew and was replaced by Dushmantha Chameera.

Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad have the best overseas contingent among all franchises by some distance. They have a new captain in Pat Cummins, who they picked for a whopping INR 20.5 crore, the second most expensive player in the tournament’s history.
