The competition is the first-ever professional T20 franchise championship in the US – which is set to host matches in the 2024 T20 World Cup. It will run from July 13-30 and feature six teams:Los Angeles Knight Riders, MI New York, San Francisco Unicorns, Seattle Orcas, Texas Super Kings and Washington Freedom.
It will be hosted between two venues, Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas and Church Street Park in Morrisville, North Carolina. Each team will play each other once before the knockout stages. The knockout stages will consist of four matches: The first will be the Eliminator, where the third and fourth placed teams from the league stage, who will compete for a place in the Challenger. The second match will be the Challenger where the top two placed sides in the league will compete for a place in the final. The winner of the Eliminator and the loser of the Qualifier will then compete in the Challenger. The winner of that match will play the winner of the Qualifier in the final.
