Watch: Hanuma Vihari was unfortunately dismissed when his attempted drive got stuck in fielder Samarth Vyas’ lap at silly point during the 2023 Irani Cup game between Saurashtra and Rest of India.
India international Hanuma Vihari, leading the Rest of India team, was dismissed on 33 off the bowling of Parth Bhut. Vihari stepped out to the tossed-up delivery and middled a full-throttled drive. The ball ended up sticking in Vyas’ body, who then managed to safely hold on to the catch.
Vihari, who last played a Test for India against England last year, was dismissed for 33 in 75 balls.
The Irani Cup is played between the previous season’s Ranji Trophy winners and the best XI from the Rest of India. The clash with Saurashtra began on October 1 in Rajkot.
