Despite being stunned by the Punjab Kings, the Kolkata Knight Riders are still second on the points table. While tied with four others on 10 points, KKR have played at least one match fewer than all of them, and have the best net run rate in this season.

Against Punjab, KKR missed Mitchell Starc due to a finger injury. There is no update on his availability at this point. If Starc does not play, Dushmantha Chameera will retain his place. That may be the only change to their XI.

After being wooden spoon contenders in the first part of the season, Delhi Capitals suddenly find themselves a win away from securing the second place in the league. David Warner and Ishant Sharma are ruled out for a week, but Jake Fraser-McGurk and Rasikh Salam Dar have done wonderfully as replacements. Expect DC to go unchanged – except perhaps recall Prithvi Shaw for Kumar Kushagra.
