They have won their first two matches at the World Cup relatively comprehensively and are looking like the team to beat. Shubman Gill, who missed the first two matches due to dengue, has started practising with the team, with Rohit Sharma saying he is “99 percent” available for the big game.

Shardul Thakur is expected to retain his place over R Ashwin given the non-spin-friendly nature of the Ahmedabad surface.
