Afghanistan-Ireland ODI delayed under bizarre circumstances

Afghanistan Ireland ODI
by Wisden Staff 1 minute read

The start of the third and final ODI between Afghanistan and Ireland was delayed due to the fog affecting transportation in Abu Dhabi.

The toss, which had been scheduled for 9.30am local time originally, was delayed by an hour and 15 minutes as the teams couldn’t reach the venue on time. The fog in certain areas of Abu Dhabi had caused a highway closure in the city, thereby affecting the transportation.

Afghanistan have already taken an unassailable lead in the three-match series, having won the first two games by 16 runs and seven wickets respectively.
