Watch: Rohit Sharma’s indifferent IPL 2023 continued in the Eliminator on Wednesday, after he was dismissed by Naveen-ul-Haq, with the bowler celebrating with a “covering his ears” gesture. The quick went on to celebrate in a similar manner after dismissing Suryakumar Yadav and Cameron Green as well.

The MI skipper was dismissed in the fourth over of the innings, sent down by the Afghanistan player. On the second ball, he danced down against a good-length ball, as he looked to play it on the off-side. However, he was only able to get a thick edge and ended up giving a simple catch to Ayush Badoni, stationed at extra cover.

The bowler went on to celebrate animatedly – he first covered his ears, seemingly to drown out the noises of the fans who have been chanting “Kohli Kohli” in every LSG game, following his run-in with the RCB batter earlier in the IPL. Naveen then gestured towards his jersey before joining his teammates in celebration.

Rohit, on the other hand, was left disappointed as he was out for a 10-ball 11 to carry forward his indifferent form in the season. The opener has made 324 runs this year at an average of 21.60 and a strike rate of 133.33.

Naveen also went on to dismiss Surya and Green in his next over. He bowled a leg-cutter on the fourth ball of the 11th  to Surya, but the batter was too early on the shot and ended up playing it to long-off. Two balls later, Naveen bowled an off-cutter, which Green looked to drive away. However, there was a huge gap between the pad-bat, and the ball went on to dismantle the stumps behind. The bowler whipped out his celebration again, as MI fell to 105-4 in 11 overs.
