Women’s Ashes 2023 will begin with a five-day Test match at Trent Bridge. Here are the Women’s Ashes 2023 Test live coverage, playing XIs, toss details, statistics, and match prediction.

The 2023 Women’s Ashes, a watershed moment in women’s cricket, will tee off with a Test match at Trent Bridge, Nottingham on June 22, with four points at stake. This will be a five-day affair, an improvement on the usual four-day Women’s Test matches.

There will be three T20Is, at Edgbaston, the Kia Oval, and Lord’s, and three ODIs, at Bristol, Southampton, and Taunton. A win in each of these matches will fetch a side two points. The Ashes will be contested over 16 points.

Having won each of the last two series 12-4, Australia Women hold the Ashes. However, the last three Test matches were all drawn, partly due to the four-day duration. This time, the Test match may yield a result.

England have already announced their XI. They have included uncapped fast bowler Lauren Filer of Somerset and Western Storm, who, to quote coach Jon Lewis, “bowls with more pace than probably anyone in the country and she really swings the red Dukes ball.”

Having played 102 ODIs and 143 T20Is, star all-rounder Danni Wyatt will finally get her maiden Test cap as well.

Australia are without captain and batting legend Meg Lanning. Alyssa Healy, set to lead in her absence, is almost certain to drop down the order. Beth Mooney and Phoebe Litchfield will open batting in that case.

Women’s Ashes 2023 Test match XIs

Women’s Ashes 2023 Test match predictions

Australia have been the most dominant side in women’s cricket for some time now – but in the two limited-overs formats. The lack of Test cricket reduces the gap between the two sides. Expect a close contest.
