The auction for the IPL 2024 has begun today (December 19) in Dubai. Here is the updated list of Australian players sold at the IPL 2024 auction so far.

The final list of players for the IPL 2024 auction consists of more than 300 players. The ten teams have 77 spots to fill, with a maximum of 30 of those to be filled by overseas players. 

20 Australian players will go under the hammer in IPL 2024. The base price for these 20 players range from one extreme (INR 2 crore) to the other (INR 20 lakh). Following Australia’s triumphant run in international cricket this year, a lot of focus will be on Australian players at the auction.

Full list of Australian players sold at the IPL 2024 auction

Travis Head (Sunrisers Hyderabad) – INR 6.8 crore

The Australian played match-winning knocks against India in the WTC final and the 50-over World Cup history and became the first Australian to be picked in the auction. This will be his first IPL season since 2017.

Pat Cummins (Sunrisers Hyderabad) – INR 20.5 crore

The World Cup-winning captain was bought for INR 15.5 crore in 2020 by Kolkata Knight Riders and became the most expensive player in IPL history this year, becoming only the first player to be sold for over INR 20 crore.

Mitchell Starc (Kolkata Knight Riders) – INR 24.75 crore

The left-hander was always expected to fetch a big price in the auction and teams went all out for the left-hander. Starc last played in the IPL in 2015, having missed the 2018 season after being injured. He has opted out since then, and will now lead the attack at Eden Gardens.

Ashton Turner (Lucknow Super Giants) – INR 1 crore

Turner is a capable T20 batter, with a strike rate of 141.20, though he has been unable to shine in T20Is. He has made it a habit of chasing totals in the BBL and is a handy back-up for Marcus Stoinis.

Spencer Johnson (Gujarat Titans) – INR 80 lakh

The Australian left-arm pacer has played only 20 T20s, getting 17 wickets at a strike rate of over 23. His best figures are 3-1, which he grabbed earlier this year in The Hundred. The 90mph left-armer targets the hard length and relies on pace and bounce to get his success and will find the conditions in Ahmedabad to his liking.

Jhye Richardson (Delhi Capitals) – INR 5 crore

Richardson was bought for INR 14 crore in the 2021 IPL auction but was not able to set the stage on fire. He has played only for T20s this year but was exceptional in the BBL last year, averaging 13.04 but injuries have affected him.
