England have named their XI on the eve of the clash. Shoaib Bashir, who debuted in Vizag, will make way for Wood, who didn’t play last time. It will be the first time they will go with two pacers, having preferred Wood in the first Test and Anderson in the other. Rehan Ahmed is also cleared to play after facing visa issues upon arriving in Rajkot.

IND vs ENG: Padikkal in for Rahul

Meanwhile, India, yet to announce their XI, have replaced KL Rahul with uncapped Karnataka batter Devdutt Padikkal in the squad. Sarfaraz Khan could earn his long-awaited Test cap to take up Rahul’s spot, while wicketkeeper KS Bharat may lose his place to Dhruv Jurel, another possible debutant. Virat Kohli continues to be unavailable for personal reasons.
