PAK vs SA: What is the latest weather and rain update?

Latest update at 12.24 pm IST: The groundsmen have started taking the covers off in Chennai as the sun peeps through the thick clouds

11:28 am IST match day: Steady showers were seen around two-and-a-half hours before the toss in Chennai. The rain stopped a few moments after it remained cloudy throughout the day.

Despite the early rain, the prediction seems to ease up for the rest of the day. According to Google Weather, the chances of precipitation hover between 3 to 4 per cent across the duration of the game.

According to AccuWeather, the slight rain in the morning of the game would lead to an increase in humidity, making it an unpleasant day for the cricketers. Although the current temperature 90 minutes before the toss is 32 degrees Celsius, the real feel, according to AccuWeather is almost seven degrees more, at 39 degrees Celsius.

The humidity will be 71 per cent, which has been deemed as “dangerous” by AccuWeather and combined with an Air Quality Index of 119, the day could get uncomfortable for both teams, especially the one that fields first.

As far as rain for PAK vs SA goes, the rain is expected to stay away from the game and it is expected to be cloudy throughout.
