The 2024 Indian Premier League opening ceremony will take place on March 22. Here are the details of IPL 2024 opening ceremony, including the list of performers, venue, and live telecast and streaming details.

IPL 2024 will start on March 22, with a match between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Ahead of the match, there will be an opening ceremony, featuring prominent names from the entertainment industry.

The long weekend will then feature two double headers, on March 23 and 24. By Sunday, all ten teams would have played exactly once.

Venue

The opening ceremony will take at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai, ahead of the tournament opener between hosts Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Start time

The opening ceremony will begin at 6.30 PM IST, an hour before the scheduled time of toss.

List of performers

The complete list of performers at the IPL 2024 opening ceremony is yet to be announced. However, certainties include acclaimed musical composer AR Rahman, singers Sonu Nigam and Mohit Chauhan, and Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff.

Swedish DJ Axwell will perform in the mid-innings show.

Actor Boman Irani will be the voice of the opening ceremony.

IPL 2024 opening ceremony will be telecast live in India on several channels on the Star Sports Network. The English broadcast will be on Star Sports 1 HD and SD. For live streaming, fans will have to tune in to the Jio Cinema app and website.

The event will be telecast in the UK across different Sky Sports channels like Main Event, Cricket and Sky Sports Mix TV. There will be live streaming is on Sky Go.

Fox Sports will show the ceremony. Fans can stream the match live on Kayo and Foxtel Go.

Willow will live stream the event exclusively.
