Watch: Mohammad Wasim cleaned up two batters in an over with vicious reverse swinging deliveries in the Bangladesh-Pakistan World Cup 2023 match on October 31.
At the time, Pakistan looked to tighten the noose further on Bangladesh, who were reeling at 200-7 at the end of 43 overs. Mohammad Wasim was brought on for the next over to clean up the tail.
On the first ball of the over, a length ball from Wasim jagged back in. Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who was on strike, swiped across the line and was undone by the reverse swing, the delivery shattering his stumps. The pacer sent Miraz back for 25 (30).
Just two balls later, Wasim struck again while resorting to the similar ploy of reverse swing. He bowled it full and swung it late. Taskin Ahmed, batting on six, tried to follow the line of the ball but the late movement proved to be the death knell for him.
Later, he came back in the 46th over to dismiss No.11 batter, Mustafizur Rahman, bowling out Bangladesh for 204 on a seaming Eden Gardens pitch.
