Watch: Mohammad Wasim claimed his first Test wicket with a reverse-swinging beauty right out of the playbook of a number of former Pakistan greats, pinning Harry Brook lbw.

The 21-year-old, a regular for Pakistan in white-ball cricket, was an unused member of the squad for the first two Tests, making his debut in the dead rubber at Karachi. He struggled to start with, conceding 49 runs in his first nine overs without reward.

He was brought back when the ball had aged, and found assistance straightaway. With the first ball of his spell he found movement in the air, but Ben Foakes was equal to the task, clipping to midwicket.

With the second, Wasim found the perfect line and length, the ball starting outside off before ducking in and beating Brook’s attempted push. He was struck on the knee roll and was given out lbw by the umpire. Brook walked off straightaway, only considering a review when he was partway off the field, but the decision was not sent upstairs. Even if it had been, ball-tracking suggests Brook would have stayed ‘out’.

Wasim continued to find reverse-swing through the remainder of the innings, but Brook remained his only scalp.
