At Lahore, hosts Lahore Qalandars posted 175-6 after opposition skipper Shan Masood won the toss and opted to field. Opener Sahibzada Farhan remained unbeaten on a 45-ball 72, while key contributions came from Shai Hope (21 in 13) and George Linde (26 not out in 13).
For the Karachi Kings, Mir Hamza returned 2-31, Hassan Ali 2-29, and Tabraiz Shamsi 2-42.
Zaman Khan (2-25) and Ahsan Hafeez (2-19) then reduced Karachi to 44-4 before Shoaib Malik (39 in 32 balls) and Kieron Pollard (58 in 33) turned things around. Karachi needed 33 in 20 balls when they fell in quick succession. It came down to 11 when Ahsan began the last over.
Hassan clobbered the first ball over mid-wicket to bring the target to five in five. He then ran a single, and Irfan got a two, then a single to level the scores with two balls to spare.
Hassan tried to seal the match with a heave over long-off, but mistimed the shot. Haris Rauf held an outstanding catch, but injured himself in the process.
The last ball was too close for the cut No.10 Mir Hamza attempted, but an outside edge ran safely behind wicketkeeper Hope, and they got the run they needed.
With four points in three games, Karachi are now third in the points table, after Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators. Lahore, champions in 2022 and 2023, are still winless after four matches.
