The inaugural auction for Cricket South Africa’s T20 league will be held on September 19 — here’s where you can watch the event live, including TV and streaming details for the SA20.
The first edition of SA T20 will begin in January 2023, the auctions for which will be held on Monday. There are a total of six teams in the event, all of which have been bought by owners of the Indian Premier League sides. The franchises are named: MI Cape Town, Durban Super Giants, Johannesburg Super Kings, Paarl Royals, Pretoria Capitals and Sunrisers Eastern Cape.
A total of 316 players from 14 countries are slated to go under the hammer in the auctions.
Each team was allowed to make a few pre-auction picks. The different sides have already signed up a total of 23 players. Quinton de Kock, Prenelan Subrayen, Jason Holder, Kyle Mayers, and Reece Topley went to Durban, while Johannesburg picked Faf du Plessis, Gerald Coetzee, Moeen Ali, Maheesh Theekshana, and Romario Shepherd.
Cape Town went ahead with Kagiso Rabada, Dewald Brevis, Rashid Khan, Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran and Paarl have David Miller, Corbin Bosch, Jos Buttler, and Obed McCoy already in the side. Pretoria have Anrich Nortje and Miguel Pretorius while and Eastern Cape have Aiden Markram and Ottniel Baartman.
Every team has a purse of USD 2 million and can select ten South Africans and seven overseas players.

The most expensive players in the auctions are Jayden Seales and Odean Smith at ZAR 1.75 million, with Eoin Morgan, Adil Rashid, Jason Roy, Tymal Mills, David Willey, James Neesham and Chamika Karunaratne just below them in the price bracket, at ZAR 1.7 million.

The SA20 auction will be broadcast live on SuperSport Cricket and SS Grandstand, with the live stream also available on the SA20 website, YouTube and DSTv app.
In India
Sony Sports Network will be broadcasting the SA20 auction live. It will be live on Sony Six.
Sports18-1 SD & HD will broadcast live the player auction of the inaugural edition of SA20 in India, to be held on September 19, 5:30pm IST onwards.
Other countries
Live streaming will be on the SA20 website and SA20 YouTube channel. It will also be available on the Facebook pages of each franchise.
