Watch: Afghanistan quick Fazalhaq Farooqi clean-bowled Jos Buttler with a sizzling nip-backer to end the England captain’s blistering powerplay assault in the Indian Premier League (IPL) today (April 2).

Buttler gave Rajasthan Royals a rapid start, racing to a 20-ball fifty inside six overs, but was sent packing before the fielding restrictions lifted by a beauty from Farooqi.

Initially, it was Yashasvi Jaiswal who took the attach to the Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers, hitting five fours inside the first three overs. At this point, Buttler was 12 off seven balls, with one six off Bhuvneshwar Kumar the only sign of aggression.

But he pounced upon the introduction of spin, launching Washington Sundar for two sixes in two balls to get himself going. In the next over, he crunched four boundaries off T Natarajan, before three more boundaries in four balls off Farooqi brought up a 20-ball fifty.

The right-armer hit back however, nipping one back in to cut Buttler in half and clip the top of off-stump, ending his innings at 54 off 22.
