The Indian Premier League player 2023 auction will be held in Kochi on December 23. Ahead of the event, which will be a mini-auction compared to the two-day programme earlier this year. The transfer window has remained open in the meantime, allowing franchises to exchange players ahead of the auction.
The deadline will end on November 15 – 5pm IST.

KKR have confirmed that the trio of Pat Cummins, Alex Hales and Sam Billings have been released. All three won’t be participating in the upcoming auction.
Just in: Kieron Pollard has retired from IPL. He won’t be parting ways with Mumbai Indians though – he will take up the role of batting coach, and will play in MI Emirates.
Plenty of chatter around the big names: the likes of Kieron Pollard, Kane Williamson, and Mayank Agarwal, who have played IPL for years, might find not be first-choice retentions, given how their form has declined of late.
Teams will be releasing players to make space in their budget, which will be given an additional INR 5 crore increment to make purchases in the auction.

# Shardul Thakur has been traded to Kolkata Knight Riders from Delhi Capitals. KKR’s Aman Khan, meanwhile, has moved to Delhi Capitals.
# Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Lockie Ferguson have moved to Kolkata Knight Riders from Gujarat Titans.
# Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Jason Behrendorff has been traded to Mumbai Indians.
# Pat Cummins has withdrawn from the IPL 2023 auction, citing a heavy international workload.
