Here’s all you need to know about the Perth Scorchers BBL team in the upcoming Big Bash League 2020/21, which begins on December 10, 2020.

Perth Scorchers are the most successful team in the BBL, having won the title thrice (2013/14, 2014/15, and 2016/17). In 2011/12 and 2012/13, they finished runner up, but didn’t qualify for the semi-finals in the last two editions.

Key domestic player: Fawad Ahmed

At 38, Fawad Ahmed continues to be a stellar T20 presence, even though the chance of representing Australia might be past him. In the 2020 Caribbean Premier League, he was the fourth-highest wicket-taker with 13 scalps in 11 games, and was also Scorchers’ leading wicket-taker last season, picking up 15 wickets in 14 matches.

Key overseas player: Colin Munro

Munro, the fifth-best batsman in the ICC T20I rankings, was signed up by Perth Scorchers team ahead of the 2020/21 BBL season. In T20I cricket, he has hit three centuries and has an awe-inspiring strike-rate of 156.44.
