The first week of the men’s Hundred 2023 has reached its conclusion with plenty of England white-ball players in action.

A World Cup is just around the corner, and England have two series in September before heading out to India. Here is how those who have been part of England squads over the past year have fared so far in the competition.
Dawid Malan
Malan was sensational in the Hundred last year and finished as the leading run scorer. In the first match of 2023, he scored 11 off 12 balls opening the batting. Trent Rockets have yet to complete another fixture due to the weather.
James Vince
Scores of three, 18 and 33 so far for the Southern Brave captain. After three rounds of the competition, Brave are sitting sixth in the men’s table.
Chris Jordan
Against Welsh Fire, Jordan played one of the best innings ever in the competition. At 77-8 with 13 balls to go, his side was in trouble. Jordan, eight off 14 at that point, exploded in seven sixes and three fours to finish on 70 of 32 balls, his last 62 runs coming off 17 balls. He also took three wickets in Brave’s first match against Trent Rockets.
Rehan Ahmed
After a wicketless first game, Rehan took two wickets in his second and one in his third. He has yet to pass one with the bat.
Tom Abell
Despite his team’s much improved performance this year, winning their first game after a two-year losing streak, Abell hasn’t found his rhythm with the bat. He score 11 in the second game before being out for a duck in their third.
David Willey
Having moved from Northern Superchargers to Welsh Fire, Willey has had a successful competition so far. He took two wickets and scored 32 in the Fire’s narrow loss in Southampton, but couldn’t quite hit the three required off the final ball to win the match.
Phil Salt
Salt sandwiched two single-figure scores with a 21 of just nine balls against London Spirit. He was in full flow with Jos Buttler opening the innings and carving three sixes before getting cramped by a short ball that he nicked through to the keeper.
Jos Buttler
England’s white-ball captain is the current leading run-scorer in the men’s competition. He blasted a half-century at Old Trafford against London Spirit before rain washed out the rest of the match, and looked on similar form against Birmingham Phoenix before Moeen Ali exacted a direct hit to run him out.
Liam Dawson
After and impressive county season, Dawson has taken one wicket in two matches to date, and scored four in his only innings.
Will Jacks
Two starts but nothing special from Jacks so far. He’s scored fluently in the innings he’s played, but fallen before he really had a chance to get going both times.
Sam Curran
Curran had a good first game of his tournament, taking a wicket and top scoring for the Invincibles against the Spirit, but was out for one and took some punishment with the ball in his second.
Harry Brook
Brook smashed an unbeaten 63 from 27 balls in his only innings so far, carrying on from where he left his Test summer off. He was particularly dismissive of Tim David, taking him for three consecutive sixes.
Adil Rashid
Rashid has been the pick of the spinners in the men’s competition. He’s picked up a wicket every time he has bowled, and has been as economical as ever.
Reece Topley
Topley took three wickets against Southern Brave last time, removing their top order in a Superchargers win. He also took 1-7 against Birmingham Phoenix in a match which ended in a washout.
Brydon Carse
No wickets and no runs as of yet for Carse.
Ben Duckett
Fresh from Ashes success, Duckett continued his run in his first innings back to white-ball action. He scored an unbeaten 34 off 26 for Birmingham Phoenix before hitting 10 in their loss against Manchester Originals.
Jason Roy
A difficult competition so far for Roy. He scored eight in his first innings before being dismissed first ball by Shaheen Shah Afridi in his second. Not the best start for Roy to regain his T20I place from and solidify his white-ball position with Jonny Bairstow back in the picture.
Sam Billings
Billings scored 25 off 15 in his first match after a month long break.
Moeen Ali
Just the one run for Moeen in his only match so far for Birmingham Phoenix. He wasn’t required to bowl but was instrumental in producing a direct hit to run out Buttler before he reached his half-century.
Liam Livingstone
A six and two fours made up the largest part of Livingstone’s only innings in the comp so far. He scored 27 off 25 balls before Tom Hartley caught him off his own bowling.
