Lucknow Super Giants amassed 181-5 after Faf du Plessis won the toss and opted to field. Quinton de Kock top-scored with a 56-ball 81, while Nicholas Pooran remained unbeaten on a 21-ball 40. Taking advantage of the boundaries at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, they hit five sixes apiece.
For the hosts, Glenn Maxwell finished with 2-23 from his four overs, while Yash Dayal returned figures of 4-0-24-1.

Virat Kohli and du Plessis added 40 for the opening wicket before falling in quick succession. Mayank Yadav, the young sensation who took the cricket fraternity by storm on IPL debut, then bowled one that climbed steeply to claim Maxwell.
Cameron Green joined Rajat Patidar, and they played out the next over, from Ravi Bishnoi. Green then flat-batted Mayank over mid-on for four.
Mayank pitched the next ball at a length on off stump. Green brought his bat down along the line off the ball – just not in time. By the time his bat arrived, the zing bails had lit up, and the ball was soaring high over wicketkeeper KL Rahul’s head… past the boundary line.
Mayank also dismissed Patidar to finish with 4-0-14-3, following up his 3-27 on debut. Ian Bishop praised him on social media, calling him a ‘child of wind’.
