The second Women’s Premier League auction for the upcoming WPL 2024 season will be held on December 9 in Mumbai. Here’s the full list of registered cricketers with their base price mentioned before the bidding war.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that 165 players will go under the hammer in the WPL 2024 auction. The auction list involves 104 Indians and 61 overseas cricketers, including 15 from associate nations. There are 30 berths available across the five teams, with nine slots reserved for foreign players.

West Indies’ Deandra Dottin and Australia’s Kim Garth have enlisted themselves at the highest base price of 50 lakh INR.

Gujarat Giants opted for the services of Dottin in the inaugural year for 60 lakh INR but was controversially withdrawn from the squad before the tournament. Giants stated Dottin was “recovering from a medical situation”, a claim the all-rounder refuted publicly. Dottin was replaced by Garth, who was among the numerous players released by the franchise ahead of the auction.

Five teams retained a total of 60 players, including 21 international cricketers, while 29 players were let go ahead of the retention deadline.

Having released as many as 11 players, Gujarat will enter the WPL 2024 auction with the biggest purse (5.5 crore INR), while title-holders Mumbai Indians have a spending limit of 2.1 crore INR, the least among the participating teams.
