Women’s Ashes 2023 will begin with a five-day Test match at Trent Bridge. Here is the Australia squad, full team list, player news, and injury updates ahead of Women’s Ashes 2023.

The 2023 Women’s Ashes is being played at unprecedented levels. The Test match will be played at Trent Bridge, and all three T20Is at Edgbaston, the Kia Oval, and Lord’s – four of the traditional English Test cricket venues.

The Test match, too, will be played over five days instead of the usual four. After three consecutive draws, a Women’s Ashes Test match seems set for a result.

Australia are without their captain and ace batter Meg Lanning, and will be led by wicketkeeper Alyssa Healy. They named a 14-member squad for the three formats

If the tour match against England A is anything to go by, Healy will relinquish the opening position in the Test match, and Beth Mooney and young Phoebe Litchfield will open instead.

The ubiquitous Ellyse Perry is the biggest name of the unit. Perry’s batting average of 75.20 is the second-highest in women’s Test cricket with a 500-run cut-off, while her 37 wickets (at 19.97) are the fifth-most for Australia.

Perry is not the only multidimensional star of the squad. Vice-captain Tahlia McGrath is one of the finest talents in the sport, while Ash Gardner, Jess Jonassen, Annabel Sutherland, and Georgia Wareham would have batted and bowled in teams with fewer world-class all-rounders.

In Healy, Beth Mooney, and Phoebe Litchfield, Australia also boast of a strong batting line-up, while Darcie Brown, Megan Schutt, and Alana King will join the all-rounders to form an excellent bowling attack.
