The lanky speedster had claimed six wickets against Nepal in a match-winning display, and proved incisive again against Pakistan’s arch rivals. He finished with 4-46 to restrict India to 259-9.
Most notable was his dismissal of Rudra Mayur Patel, India’s No.3. Zeeshan drew Patel into an airy drive outside the off-stump to find the outside edge, which was snaffled by the keeper.
Zeeshan then set off in celebration, curving his run towards the dismissed batter, and went on to dismiss Musheer Khan at No.5 for two, half-centurion Sachin Dhas, and No.9 Raj Limbani.
Both sides had won their respective opening games of the competition (India beat Afghanistan by seven wickets). The top two teams in each group go through to the semi-finals. The other group consists of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, th UAE and Japan.
