Watch: Steven Taylor grabbed a full-stretch stunner at slip to dismiss Mohammad Rizwan cheaply during USA's T20 World Cup fixture against Pakistan in Dallas, Texas on Thursday (June 6).
Bowling the second over of the day from over the wicket, left-arm seamer Saurabh Netravalkar pitched the second ball on a length around the middle stump. Rizwan, then on strike at nine off seven, got squared up by the slight away movement and got an edge. The ball seemed to fly away from the first slip, where Taylor was positioned. The fielder dived with his right hand outstretched and plucked the ball out of the air while being airborne. Taylor kept his pose as his teammates ran to congratulate him.
USA made further inroads by dismissing No.3 Usman Khan for a run-a-ball three before Ali Khan sent Fakhar Zaman packing for a seven-ball 11 to reduce Pakistan to 26-3 in 4.4 overs.
The catch was a near encore of the famous Dwayne Leverock grab from the 2007 ODI World Cup when Bermuda played India. Like Taylor, Leverock caught a one-handed stunner at first slip to leave everyone in awe.
