The ninth edition of the men’s T20 World Cup is set to be the biggest yet, with as many as 20 teams participating in the competition. Taking place in the United States of America and the West Indies, the T20 World Cup is scheduled to start within a week of the IPL 2024 final.
Hosts USA will kick off the tournament with Canada on June 1 in Dallas. Out of the 55 matches to be played, the first 40 will be played in the first round where the 20 teams will be divided into four groups of five each.

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the super eights, which will feature 12 games, before the top two from each super eight group will qualify for the semi-finals. The final will be played in Barbados on June 29.
T20 World Cup 2024 venues
The tournament will be hosted in the USA as well as the Caribbean. 16 of the 55 matches will be played in the United States of America, with the rest to be held in the West Indies.
Three venues in the USA will host the games:
Florida (Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium)
New York (Nassau County International Cricket Stadium)
Texas (Grand Prairie Stadium).
The six venues in the West Indies are:
North Sound, Saint George, Antigua & Barbuda (Sir Vivian Richards Stadium)
Bridgetown, Barbados (Kensington Oval)
Providence, Guyana (Guyana National Stadium)
Gros Islet, Saint Lucia (Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium)
