Watch: Shadab Khan ran out Devon Conway with a direct hit – New Zealand’s second wicket in the powerplay – during the 2022 T20 World Cup semifinal.
The last delivery of the powerplay by Haris Rauf saw Conway hit the ball straight to mid-off, with the two batters taking off for a quick single. Shadab collected the ball with ease and threw it back to the stumps, his direct aim hitting the wickets at the bowler’s end. Conway was found slightly short of his crease and had to depart for a 20-ball 20, with the commentators later questioning why the batter did not dive to save his wicket.
The match got off to a dramatic start, with New Zealand reaching 38-2 after the end of the powerplay.
