Watch: Babar Azam was run out early in Pakistan’s chase against Netherlands, continuing a run of low scores in the T20 World Cup.

Chasing 92 to win, the Pakistan skipper set off for a quick single to end the second over. Having nudged to mid-on, he raced out of the blocks, but the call was a risky one, and Netherlands’ Roelof van der Merwe swooped and threw, nailing a direct hit despite having little more than one stump to aim at.

Replays showed Babar was well short of his ground, and the opener had to go. He has now scored eight runs in three innings at the 2022 T20 World Cup.
