T20 World Cup 2021 New Zealand squad
by Wisden Staff 4 minute read

New Zealand have announced their squad for the T20 World Cup in the UAE and Oman – here’s the T20 World Cup 2021 NZ team list, along with reserve players, replacements and injury updates.

New Zealand, having won only their second ICC men’s title this year, would look to go ahead and win the T20 World Cup as well. They have played 30 games in the tournament, and have won 15 games. They have reached the semi-finals of the ICC T20 WC on two occasions – in 2007 and in 2016.

New Zealand will be led by Kane Williamson for the tournament. They lost both their warm-up matches, against England and Australia.

New Zealand squad news and updates

New Zealand were the first side to announce their squad for the event, as part of their extended 32-member squad for their scheduled tours to India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Gary Stead is the New Zealand team’s head coach.

Ross Taylor was one of the biggest exclusions from the squad, as he looks forward to preparing for the India series and the home season that follows. Lockie Ferguson has been ruled out of the edition due to a calf injury. Adam Milne, who was travelling as a reserve for the Kiwis, has been called up to the 15-member squad. Devon Conway has been ruled out of the final after breaking his hand.
