Pakistan will host South Africa for three women’s ODIs. Here are both squads for the PAK-W vs SA-W 2023 ODIs.

Pakistan Women will host South Africa Women for three ODIs at the National Stadium in Karachi, on September 8, 11, and 14, as part of the latter’s first tour of Pakistan. These follow the T20Is.

Until a week ago, South Africa held an 11-7 record against Pakistan in women’s T20Is. Pakistan’s 3-0 clean sweep, also entirely in Karachi, has reduced the margin between the sides significantly.

Pakistan began the T20Is in emphatic manner. They restricted South Africa to 150 and chased down the target in each of the first two T20Is – off the last ball in the first match and with five balls to spare in the second. In the third, Pakistan scored 150 themselves and reduced South Africa to 144-5.

A buoyant Pakistan will now want to make amends to their 4-19 record against the same opposition – literally, for South Africa have named the same squad for both series.

When the two sides last met for a bilateral ODI series, in South Africa in 2020/21, the hosts swept the series 3-0, though the one before that – in 2019, also in South Africa – was drawn 1-1. On Asian soil, the record reads 7-3 in South Africa’s favour.
