After going 1-0 down in the Test series, India bounced back emphatically to secure a 3-1 series win to qualify for the World Test Championship final and return to the top of the ICC Test team rankings. The T20I series, that gets underway later this week, will be used as valuable preparation time in what is an important year for T20 cricket.
India are almost spoilt for choices given their striking squad depth, with fierce competition for places in almost every position in the team. While there is a whole Indian Premier League season to go before the T20 World Cup, there is limited time for India to fine-tune the exact make-up of their first-choice squad. England boast a full strength squad after a number of all-format stars were rested for sections of the Test leg of the winter.
