England will play five Test matches in India between January 25 and March 11 as part of the 2023-25 World Test Championship. With a PCT of 54.16 from four games, India are second on the points table, while England are eighth, with 15 PCT after five Test matches.
India have not lost a Test series at home since 2012/13, against England. However, since then, England have played nine Test matches in India, winning one and losing seven of the other eight.
Over the same period of time at home, England beat India 3-1 in 2014 and 4-1 in 2018, and drew 2-2 in the series split across 2021 and 2022.
England have not played Test cricket since they drew the Ashes at home 2-2 in the summer of 2023. India, on the other hand, won 1-0 in the West Indies and drew 1-1 in South Africa.
England will be led by Ben Stokes, who took over as Test captain in 2022, and has not lost a series as captain to date. Apart from Stokes, the squad boasts of veterans like James Anderson, Joe Root, and Jonny Bairstow, as well as uncapped Test cricketers like Gus Atkinson, Shoaib Bashir, and Tom Hartley.
India are yet to name their squad.
