ICC World Cup 2023 top scores: The top five highest individual scores in CWC 2023 so far
The first two weeks of the 2023 World Cup have seen 12 players hit centuries in 13 matches: here are the top five highest individual scores of the tournament so far.
Devon Conway got the ball rolling in the tournament with the first century in the opening match. He hit 152 not out as New Zealand thrashed England but nine wickets. South Africa then picked up the mantle two days later, hitting the highest team score ever in men’s ODI World Cup history, with three players scoring centuries.
Players from six different nations have hit hundreds in the 2023 edition of the tournament so far, with only Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Australia, and the Netherlands still without century-makers.
1. Devon Conway – 153*

Conway’s opening blitz against England still hasn’t been beaten. Alongside Rachin Ravindra, he put England to the sword with three sixes and 19 fours in his innings. He and Ravindra shared an unbroken 273-run stand of 111 balls, the fourth-highest partnership in World Cup history. Conway’s innings was also the third-highest score for any New Zealand player in the tournament’s history.
2. Dawid Malan – 140
Dawid Malan scored 140 against Bangladesh
Malan scored his fourth ODI century of the year against Bangladesh to continue his incredible run of form at the top of England’s order. That innings brought his average for 2023 up to a remarkable 74.5, with 140 being his highest-ever score in the format. So far, he is England’s only centurion of the tournament, with their next-highest score being Joe Root’s 82 in the same match.
3. Mohammad Rizwan – 131*

Rizwan’s innings against Sri Lanka is already booked in as one of the best across the tournament. Pakistan were staring down the barrel chasing 345 and having lost their first two wickets for just 37 runs. But Rizwan came in and shared a 176-run stand with Abdullah Shafique, who also scored a century – his first in World Cups – after he replaced Fakhar Zaman in the side. Increasingly struggling with cramp throughout the chase, Rizwan finally managed to get Pakistan over the line with ten balls to spare.
4. Rohit Sharma – 131

Rohit has been the most destructive batter of the tournament so far, continuing on from his exceptional performance in the 2019 edition. After he was out for a duck in India’s opening match of the tournament against Australia, he hit back with a devastating century against Afghanistan. He scored 131 off 84 balls, his hundred coming off just 60 – the fastest by an India player in men’s ODI World Cups. It was also Rohit’s eighth World Cup century, giving him the most centuries of any player in men’s ODI World Cups. He hit five sixes in the innings, which took him past Chris Gayle as the leading six hitter in international cricket.
5. Rachin Ravindra – 123*

Ravindra wowed on World Cup debut with his first international century having been promoted up the order to No.3. With opener Will Young out for a duck, Ravindra came in the second over of the innings and quickly found his groove, hitting back-to-back fours off Chris Woakes. Having reached his half-century off 36 balls, he got to three figures from 82 balls. To cap a stunning first showing in the tournament, Ravindra finished unbeaten on 123, having reached England’s 283-run target with just under 14 overs to spare.
