New Zealand will resume their tour of Bangladesh with a two-match Test Series after clinching the ODIs 2-0 in September. The Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet will host the first game from November 28, while the second Test match, from December 6, will be played at the Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

The series marks the beginning of the 2023-25 World Test Championship campaigns for both sides.

Najmul Hossain Shanto will lead Bangladesh in the absence of injured skipper Shakib Al Hasan and vice-captain Litton Das, who requested a paternity leave. They will also miss the service of their firebrand pacer, Taskin Ahmed, who is recovering from a shoulder injury sustained during World Cup 2023, as well as Ebadot Hossain.

For New Zealand, Rachin Ravindra, who last played a Test in January 2022 against Bangladesh, has returned to the squad on the back of his rich vein of form in the World Cup. Given the spin-friendly conditions, Mitchell Santner has been recalled after a hiatus of more than two years to partner Ajaz Patel. The fit-again Kyle Jamieson, who was pivotal to their 2021 WTC victory, is back as well.
