Bangladesh will host New Zealand for two Test matches from November 28, 2023. Here is the BAN vs NZ Tests squad news, including full team lists and injury updates for Bangladesh v New Zealand 2023.

Bangladesh will host New Zealand for Test cricket after more than a decade. The teams will play two Test matches, at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet from November 28, and at Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur from December 6.

These will be the first Test matches for both sides in the 2023-25 World Test Championship, leaving South Africa as the only team to begin their campaign.

Bangladesh won their last two Test matches, against Afghanistan and Ireland at home earlier this year, but neither was part of the WTC. In fact, they have never won a home Test match that was part of the WTC. Away from home, however, they famously won a Test match against New Zealand last year, at Mount Maunganui.

New Zealand, winner of the inaugural WTC edition of 2021-23, beat Sri Lanka and drew with England earlier this year, and drew a Test series in Pakistan before that. They did not win a single Test match away from home in the 2023-25 WTC.

Of the 17 Test matches between the sides, New Zealand have won 13 and Bangladesh only one. The record reads 3-0 in New Zealand’s favour, from six matches, in Bangladesh. However, the last three matches – one in 2008/09, two in 2013/14 – were all drawn.
