The 16th edition of the Asia Cup started on August 30 with hosts Pakistan inflicting a massive 238-run defeat on tournament debutants Nepal at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

The six participating teams have been divided into two groups of three each. Group A includes India, Pakistan, and Nepal, while Group B includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Fours. Each team will play three games at the Super Four stage, from where the top two teams will compete in the Final on September 17 in Colombo.

Pakistan and India will be A1 and A2 respectively if they qualify. If Nepal make it to the Super Fours above either of them, they will take either A1 or A2.
