India A had dominated the contest, with Rajvardhan Hangargekar taking five wickets to keep Pakistan Shaheens to 205. India cruised through the chase, with Sudarshan leading the way and useful contributions coming from Abhishek Sharma and Nikin Jose.
Sudarshan was nearing a century, but it looked as if Yash Dhull’s punchy cameo (21* off 19) would deprive him of the milestone.
India needed 12 for the win, and Sudarshan needed 12 for his century. He hooked, but the ball bounced once into the rope.
No matter. After a swing and a miss, he pulled for six over fine leg and pumped mightily over long-off to reach his century and hit the winning runs against Pakistan, the stuff of dreams for a young India batter.
