Australia trounced West Indies by 10 wickets in the first Test in Adelaide to go 1-0 up in the two-match series. Here is the updated 2023-2025 World Test Championship (WTC) points table after the two series.

Australia retain top position on WTC points table

Following their dominant win in the series opener against West Indies in Adelaide, Australia continue to reign in the top spot of the WTC. This was their sixth win from nine games in this cycle, taking their points tally to 66 and their points percentage to 61.11. In the lead-up to the series, they whitewashed Pakistan 3-0 at home to climb to the apex spot.

They will resume against West Indies in the second and final match of the series at Gabba, scheduled between January 25 and 29. The fixture will provide the defending champions another opportunity to solidify their pole position.

Australia are currently trailed by India, whose brief stay at the top after hammering South Africa in Cape Town in the shortest-ever Test played was cut short with the conclusion of the Australia-Pakistan Tests. India have won two out of four matches and currently have 26 points with a points percentage of 54.16.

West Indies, meanwhile, after their humiliating loss in Adelaide in their third 2023-2025 WTC Test, dropped a place to eighth with a points percentage of 11.11. They have lost two, while a rain-affected game against India ended in a draw, earning them four points.  Alongside Sri Lanka, West Indies are one of the two teams yet to win a game in this cycle.

On the back of West Indies’ defeat, England was the only side to move up the rankings, gaining a place to sit at seventh. From five matches, they have won two and drawn one.
