Biography
William Jan Pucovski, or better known as 'Will Pucovski', is a young right-handed batsman who looks to be a bright prospect for Australian Cricket. His brilliant form in the domestic circuit for Australia created a buzz about him in the cricketing world. Although his career took a small hit due to a mental health disorder.
Pucovski made his List A debut for Cricket Australia XI against Pakistan in January 2017 and followed it up with his First-Class debut in the Sheffield Shield, playing for Victoria in the next month. In March 2018, while Pucovski was playing against New South Wales, Sean Abbott bowled a bouncer which hit his head and Will was knocked unconscious. This was the second time that he had suffered from a concussion after a bouncer hit his head. His form for Victoria has always been superb and the highlight of his little time there came in October 2018, when he scored a double ton against Western Australia. However, later in the same month, he had to take a break from cricket, due to mental health-related illness.
Will earned a surprise call-up in Australia's Test squad to face Sri Lanka in January 2019 but was not selected in the first two matches. Right before the 3rd Test, he had to be sent home due to the aforementioned mental health issue. There is talent in abundance and Pucovski will have to manage his well-being to have a successful career at the international level.
