Biography

Wayne White is a talented right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast-medium bowler. Despite having played football at the semi-professional level, White chose to give up the sport in favour of cricket.

Also known as 'Chalky', White's career in its early stages was plagued with injuries after he made a promising debut for Derbyshire in 2005, bagging four wickets in the match against Somerset. He had a fabulous 2007, taking his first five-wicket haul. Later in 2009, he switched to Leicestershire in search of greener pastures, where he showed promise aplenty. His maiden first-class century came in 2010, against his former team Derbyshire. He continued to perform equally well with bat and ball, before a broken finger caused some serious trouble and ruled him out of action for a while. He came back fully fit and refreshed in the 2011 season for the Leics.
