Biography

Tino Best is an unconventional West Indian bowler who is short in stature and can bowl at express pace. His belligerent and positive approach coupled with his never-say-die attitude on the field makes him an exciting prospect for the game of cricket.

After a successful domestic season in 2003, Best was selected for the home Test series against Australia. He was then picked for the 2006 ODI series against Zimbabwe but he failed to grab his chance as he found it hard to control his pace and maintain a disciplined line and length simultaneously. After a long break, Best found himself in the scheme of things when he was selected in 2009 for the home season when majority of the senior players backed out due to the differences with the West Indies Cricket Board. Inconsistencies again proved to be his main enemy as he went out of favour. A roller-coaster career was given another lifeline when in June 2012, Best made his come back into the international circuit on the back of strong performances in the domestic circuit. On his return, he created history scoring a scintillating 95 against England in Birmingham, the highest score by a No. 11 batsman in Tests.
