Biography
Steven Patterson burst into prominence on the English circuit when he grabbed two wickets with the last two scheduled balls of the match to take his side to a nerve-wracking one run win over Loughborough UCCE. A tall seam bowler, Patterson made his List A debut for Yorkshire in 2003. In the year 2005, Patterson got the chance to make his first-class debut against Bangladesh A.
With Tim Bresnan and Ajmal Shahzad away most of the times on England duty, Patterson grabbed the opportunities with both hands to fit in the role of the strike bowler for Yorkshire. He enjoyed an excellent 2010 season, picking up 45 first-class wickets at an economy of 26.68 and cemented his place in all formats. Apart from being a good swing bowler, Patterson has also shown that he can bat, if needed. He was the core member of the Yorkshire squad for the Champions League T20, 2012.
