Biography

Roshen Silva is a right-handed middle-order batsman from the capital city, Colombo. A promising young talent was very consistent with his runs at the First Class level which got him into the Sri Lankan U-19 World Cup team in 2008. He had a decent outing with the bat but never managed to replicate his FC form. In 2016, he came into the limelight after impressing one and all in their Premier League Tournament where he averaged a swashbuckling 56.5. He continued his run-fest against New Zealand A and followed it with another solid tour against England A with a respectable average of over 60.

Following his healthy form at First Class level, he was hard to ignore and the selectors finally picked him in the Sri Lankan Test side against the Aussies in 2016. Although he didn't get an opportunity to make his debut, he managed to keep his place for the Indian tour in 2017.
