Biography
Rory Kleinveldt, nicknamed 'Bigshow' by his teammate Mark de Stadler, is a bowling all-rounder who can use the long handle as well. He has represented South Africa during the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2002 where his team succeeded in reaching the final.
Kleinveldt has had several successful seasons with Cape Cobras and his impressive run with the domestic side earned him a spot in South Africa A side touring India in 2007. Later he was also awarded with a selection in the ODI side, though he didn't get any chance to feature in the playing XI.
His consistency in domestic cricket landed him with an international debut in a T20I against Bangladesh in 2008 but it was a disappointing outing for him. Since then, he has never been in the scheme of things for South Africa. However, he was called up to the South African Test squad in 2012 for their series against Australia, where he made his debut in the first Test. With the likes of Steyn, Morkel, Philander glued in the Test side and other bowlers as well as all-rounders making their mark in the limited-overs squads, Kleinveldt usually finds himself in the playing XI when first choice players are either injured or unavailable due to some reason.
