Robin Minz, born 13th September 2002, also named as Jharkhand’s ‘next Chris Gayle’ and ‘next Dhoni’ because of his aggressive batting style, is creating a buzz in the cricket world. The left-handed wicketkeeper batter. In February 2021, he made his debut in List A cricket in Gumla Premiere League for Gumla Red and did exceptionally well and just missed his maiden century for four runs but was the top scorer of the match.
But in the next match, he made sure to knock an outstanding inning by scoring 154 in 73 deliveries and helped his side to win the match. In the same year after a couple of months, he got promoted to Gumla Senior. He got the opportunity to play in the Randhir Verma Trophy 2021-22 and yet again became the top scorer of the game by scoring 70 runs and wrapping the game in just 27 overs. He did a pretty decent job throughout the season but lost the semis.
In 2022 Robin continued his hefty blows and got into Rampage CC where he showcased his batting prowess to attract the selectors and soon made his debut for Jharkhand in the BC Mahanti Memorial T20 Invitational Cricket Tournament in 2023. His first game was abandoned due to a washout against Hyderabad, but he scored 73 runs (not out) off just 35 deliveries. The applause for his batting gained a lot of noise, which was transmitted to the auction of the Indian Premier League 2024 and Gujarat bagged him for 3.6 Cr. He shot to fame after the auction and stole the headlines of every newspaper.
