Biography

A powerful left-handed batsman, Rob Quiney represents Victoria in Australia’s domestic cricket setup.

Quiney has been an important member of the Victorian side and has played quite a few vital knocks for them. His score of 153 against Tasmania in the Sheffield Shield is one of his career highlights and he followed it up with a handy 73 in the final, as an opener, in place of injured Chris Rogers. A consistent domestic show earned him a contract with Rajasthan Royals in the IPL and he was also included in Australia's T20I squad against New Zealand. However, he didn't get the chance to make his debut. Quiney has been associated with Auckland since 2010/11 season and his batting prowess adds a lot of strength to the Kiwi domestic side. In 2012, Quiney stood out on the domestic front and was thereby added to Australia’s Test squad for their big series against South Africa at home, where he made his debut in the first Test.
