Biography
Had he not started playing competitive cricket at the age of 19, Prasanth Parameswaran would have been a hammer thrower today.
After initially trying a hand at the sport, the left-arm medium pacer from Kerala turned to cricket and made his first-class debut in 2009. He had an impressive run of form in the 2010-11 domestic season, which then earned him an IPL contract with the now-defunct franchise of Kochi in 2011. It was a dream start for Prasanth on his debut, as he claimed the wicket of the dangerous Virender Sehwag in his first over itself. He was also adjudged Man-of-the-match for the same that added to his laurels.
However, he is most remembered for being smashed for 37 runs in an over by the mighty Chris Gayle. The following year, he replaced S Aravind in the Bangalore squad ahead of the fifth edition. In 2014 Indian T20 League auction, he was picked up by Hyderabad franchise for 30 lakhs.
