Biography
A hard-hitting, right handed middle-order batsman, Neil Trevor Broom debuted in 2002-03. He played his first three seasons for Canterbury before moving to Otago. His brilliant run of form saw him become Otago's leading run-scorer in 2006-07 and that helped him fulfill his dream of wearing the national colors a couple of years later. He made the squad replacing the injured Scott Styris on the back of some strong performances in the State Championship. Noted for his ability to score all around the ground and his incline to hit over the in-field, he was given a chance against West indies in 2009 where he was unbeaten on 24 before the match was called off.
